I already addressed that case earlier, it had nothing to do with 'government officials' btw, anymore than a libel case does, since they are resolved in court. The complaint wasn't filed by a government official and it received no government support.

Furthermore, you contradict yourself as you point out that the two comedians attacking Christians case was thrown out, but then so was the case against the Alberta Report. Doesn't seem to back up your argument, since both cases went to court and were thrown out. In either case, neither of the complainants would have been the government though.

Sounds like equal treatment to me, maybe you should stop getting your info from right-wing blogs as your pointless rhetorical use of Chaves clearly shows that is where you're coming from.

I don't support hate-speech laws in Canada but I don't appreciate right-wing American politicos using them to score points in your internal 'culture wars' and getting all high and mighty about it either.

After all, no one in Canada has gone to jail for hate-speech unlike, say, Max Hardcore in the US. Seems like pointing out the speck in your neighbour's eye to me.
